Journal of the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (JWBUHS) is an peer-reviewed journal published by the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, India aimed at publishing high-quality review articles and original research papers on all disciplines of medicine and allied biomedical subjects. It is intended for all biomedical researchers including physicians, fellows, residents, nurses, and physiotherapists all over the world who are willing to update their own knowledge.

Peer-review policy

A transparent, double, anonymous peer-review is the system used to assess the quality of a manuscript before it is published. Independent researchers in the relevant research area assess submitted manuscripts for originality, validity and significance to help editors determine whether the manuscript should be published in their journal.

Journal of the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (JWBUHS) operates a double-blind peer-review system, where the neither the reviewers nor the authors are aware of the names and affiliations of the authors or reviewer. The reviewers’ reports provided to authors are anonymous.

Submitted manuscripts will generally be reviewed by two to three experts who will be asked to evaluate the manuscript from scientific and ethical point of view and the manuscript is sufficiently clear for publication. The Editors will reach a decision based on the reports of the reviewers and, where necessary, they may consult with members of the Editorial Board.

Plagiarism

The articles submitted in the journal will be routinely screened for plagiarism. The software URKUND is used for this purpose. The details of the usage of the software can be obtained from https://secure.urkund.com.

Archiving policy

In excess of the journal domain; it is allowed to all the authors to deposit all versions in an institutional or other repository of the author’s choice without any embargo.

Unique Identifiers and structured data

The journal uses Digital Object Identifier (DOI) as persistent article identifiers. It also allows for Open Research Contributor (ORCID iDs) to be present in article metadata. The journal complies with 140C standards for open citations.

Editorial policies

All manuscripts submitted to Journal of the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (JWBUHS) should adhere to Journal of the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (JWBUHS)'s editorial policies.

Once your article is accepted, it will be processed by production and published depending on the next available issue. In some cases, articles may be held for a short period of time prior to publication. No communication is required in this regard.

ABOUT THE JOURNAL

JWBUHS (Journal of the West Bengal University of Health Sciences) is the official journal of The West Bengal University of Health Sciences. It covers all the disciplines under health sciences viz. Modern Medicine, homeopathy, ayurvedic, unani, siddha, yoga & naturopathy, nursing etc.Original articles, Review articles, Case reports, Letter –to-Editor, Commentary etc. within the purview of the health science are accepted. The journal is available in both print and online version. At present the journal is published quarterly i.e. 4 issues in a year.
